Sony Xperia Z3+ officially launched in India
The Sony Xperia Z3+ smartphone has just been unveiled in India, just as the company embarks on a global release of the new flagship. As the name suggests, the handset offers an incremental upgrade over the late 2014 Xperia flagship as you'll see in the hardware specifications sheet.

The smartphone will be available for purchase from a wide range of retailers, including Sony India's stores across the country. Pricing has been set at Rs. 55,990 which is beyond reason and quite expensive compared to other offerings available in the market. We're not sure what's the idea behind this extravagant pricing, but we're hoping the company will rethink this before it's too late.

However, this shouldn't surprise anyone considering that the dated Xperia Z3 still retails for about Rs. 41,000 online. It's clear that Sony is looking to make the most of its high end offerings, but when the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the LG G4 are priced much cheaper in the country, we don't see the Xperia Z3+ making any noise in the market, especially given its feature set.

Specifications of the Sony Xperia Z3+:

· 5.2-inch 1080p display
· 6.9mm thickness
· 144 grams
· 20.7MP rear camera
· 5.1MP front camera
· 32GB storage (expandable up to 128GB)
· 3GB RAM
· Octa core Snapdragon 810 processor
· 2,930 mAh battery
· Android 5.0 Lollipop
· 4G LTE connectivity

The fact that the Snapdragon 810 SoC is suffering from overheating issues won't help their cause cause one bit. Sony even came out with a statement recently where it confirmed that the device had some thermal issues and suggested users to not use any CPU heavy tasks, which sounds nonsensical as the company is essentially telling you not to use some features of the phone because the CPU is faulty. Thankfully, the company is expected to issue a patch for this bug soon.
