Yunio Is A Cross-Platform Cloud Storage & Sync Service With Up To 1TB Of Free Space

When it comes to selecting a cloud storage service, what’s the most pivotal feature that you look for? More storage space? Better security? Or the best sharing capabilities? As with all cutting-edge technologies, cloud storage solutions are also gradually becoming more robust. While Dropbox may still be the most popular solution around, there are unsung heroes like Yunio that aim to provide consumers the best-in-class features they never thought they needed. Besides being available on all major desktop and mobile platforms, Yunio’s feature-set is simply spellbinding, hard to count on fingers I’d say. To begin, it’s the 1TB free cloud space alone should be enough to catch the attention of most users.

It must be noted that Yunio isn’t a new name in town; the company was founded in China back in 2011, and has since expanded to several operating systems including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android and iOS. Yunio’s official apps are available for every platform it supports.

Some of its highlighted features includes up to 1TB of free cloud space with 25GB per file limit, CDN support for fast file transfer speeds, SSL AES-256 bit encryption, auto backup of images from mobile devices, ability to let users share individual files and folders, and seamless syncing of two or more folders.

Merely signing up for Yunio scores you 5GB of space to store your files, and the total space gradually increases up to 1TB with daily increase of 1GB whenever you sign in. In addition, it allows uploads of up to 25GB per file. Creating a new account with Yunio is fairly easy; your email, full name and password is all it asks for.

To test drive Yunio on desktop, I gave the Windows client a shot, which worked just as advertised. The UI is simple, elegant and quite easy to navigate. Unlike popular cloud drive provides like SkyDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive, Yunio lets you upload files to the cloud with or without the syncing features. This can be quite handy for those who want to keep their synced and backed up files separate from one another.

The ‘My files’ section is where all your uploaded items show up. To upload a new file or folder, all you have to do is simply drag and drop the required item over the application window.

The best bit about Yunio is that file synchronization is done only at the user’s discretion. They can use Yunio to store backups, sync files or both. Sync can be enabled on the fly by clicking ‘Create a new sync’, after which you’re asked to choose the cloud folder that you want to sync with one stored locally on your computer.

Any folder or file stored on your Yunio account can be easily shared among others. To share an item, right-click it and select ‘Share this folder’ from the context menu.

All shared folders can be accessed under the ‘Shared folder’ section, from where you can view more details about the shared directory such as Yunio members with whom the folder is shared, a public invitation link, total number of members, and total number of files stored etc.

Yunio is also available for Android and iOS. The snappy app gives you all the features and functionality found in the desktop counterpart, in addition to auto backup of photos stored on your phone or tablet. You can upload files, sync folders, and share and collaborate on them with other Yunio users.

All in all, Yunio is quite a great cloud storage service, and  the 1TB of free storage space (after it has grown to that level at 1GB per day), along with the rest of the features it offers, make it simply awesome.
